Sigma Surveillance Inc. ("Sigma", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information through our website, sigmasurveillance.ca (the "Site"). It applies to visitors in Canada, including Quebec, and in the United States, including California.

Information we collect
- Information you give us: when you request an assessment or contact us, we collect your name, company, phone number, email, the location and type of your property, and any details you choose to share.
- How you found us: with your quote request we record the page you submitted from, the page you first landed on, the referring website and campaign tags (for example, which ad you clicked). If you accepted advertising cookies, we also record the ad click identifier. We also note your approximate location (city and region) based on your IP address, and your browser type.
- Usage information: if you allow analytics cookies, tools such as Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity collect information about your device, browser, approximate location, pages viewed, clicks and scrolling. Clarity may record how you interact with pages; form fields are masked.
- Text messages: if you text us or tick the text-message box on our forms, your mobile number, the messages we exchange and a record of your consent (see "Text messages (SMS)" below).
- Cookie-free statistics: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits without cookies and without identifying you.
Cookies and similar technologies
Essential cookies and storage keep the Site working and remember your privacy choices. Analytics and advertising cookies are off until you turn them on in our cookie banner. You can change your choice any time using "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.
- Analytics: Google Analytics (Google LLC) and Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation).
- Advertising: Google Ads (Google LLC) and the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.), used to measure ad results and show relevant ads.
We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
How we use information
- To respond to your request, prepare an assessment and quote, and provide our services.
- To understand how the Site is used and improve it.
- To measure and improve our advertising, if you consent.
- To send marketing emails, only if you opt in. You can unsubscribe any time.
- To protect the Site from spam and abuse, and to meet legal obligations.
Text messages (SMS)
Our text-message program is called Sigma Surveillance Text Support. If you text us, or tick the optional text-message box on one of our forms, we collect your mobile number, the content of the messages we exchange, their dates and times, your opt-in and opt-out status, and a record of your consent (date and time, the page and form you used, the consent wording shown to you and your IP address).
We use this information only to reply to your inquiry and to text you about your quote, site-assessment scheduling and customer support. We do not send marketing text messages.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates. We never send your mobile number or text-message data to analytics or advertising platforms. Our telecommunications provider transmits and stores our text messages solely to deliver them on our behalf.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP (or ARRET) at any time to the number that texted you to stop receiving texts from that number, or HELP (or AIDE) for help. We keep text-message and consent records while we have a relationship with you, and afterwards for as long as we need them to show that you consented and to meet our legal obligations.
Sharing
We don't sell personal information for money. We share it with service providers that help us run the Site and our business (hosting, email, analytics and advertising platforms) under contracts that protect it. If you consent to advertising cookies, sharing data with advertising platforms may be considered "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law; you can opt out using "Do not sell or share my personal information" at the bottom of every page, or with GPC.
Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are excluded from all of the sharing described in this section; they are stored only by our hosting and telecommunications providers on our behalf. See "Text messages (SMS)" above.
Where information is stored
Our service providers may store and process information outside your province or country, including in the United States. When that happens, the information is subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.
Retention
We keep assessment requests and customer records for as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet legal requirements, then delete or anonymize them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, withdraw consent, request a copy of it in a portable format, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information or targeted advertising. Quebec residents also have rights under Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector. California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we won't discriminate against you for using them. To make a request, contact our Privacy Officer. We may need to verify your identity. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or the California Privacy Protection Agency.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Children
The Site is intended for businesses and adults and isn't directed to children.
Changes
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date shows when it last changed.
